What is that in your mouth?

Surprisingly, for once, it was not food in his mouth. Adam has been drooling a lot more over the past couple weeks, so I knew that teething was right around the corner. I kept waiting for him to get fussy, so scream, I had planned to spend a couple sleepless nights rocking with him through his personal agony. So, when mom put her finger in Adam's mouth today and said, "He's got a tooth!" I was shocked! I was about to argue and tell her he couldn't have a tooth, that he hadn't cried yet. However, after washing my hands, I felt for myself that the little guy did, indeed, have a tooth. Mom said that it wasn't there when she checked yesterday.

Here's the point I'm making: While my baby's first tooth was breaking the skin, he spent the entire time smiling and kicking. My baby rules! Don't be too jealous!

yeah.....that's all

So, Adam is HUGE! He's over 20 pounds already. He's started eating cereal in the last couple weeks. He eats until you make him stop. We got pictures and video of him eating the first time. He is so excited about his eating. He waves his arms around, and kicks his legs, laughs...all while he's eating. He does this thing where he'll see the spoon coming for him and he'll lift his head up and somewhat impale himself on the spoon. Anything to narrow the distance between the food and his mouth. He's started to try to grab onto the spoon. I realized earlier this week that Adam has never fallen asleep while eating.

He hasn't rolled over yet. That may be attributed to his size. That's a lot for a little boy to roll. He's scooting a round a lot though. He wakes up in a completely different place in the crib then where I laid him down.

Bob has discovered some way for us to play old school Nintendo games on the computer. I'm quite enjoying it as I've never played these games. It's quite educational.

My little pig

Adam turned 4 months old today. Last night I put a 6-9 month onesie on him....and it fit! It's a little big, but it looks just fine. His pants are 3-6 month and they are way too big. He's a top heavy little boy.

Tired

I am so tired. I'm going through that time of the year (end of Jan. to March) where I'm just blah. It's the seasonal depression crap. I hate it. I'm tired all the time now, and can't get enough sleep. Oh well, I'll get over it.

I should be posting some new pics of Adam soon. He's a little chunk!

So, I'm wondering about Marsha....

Where is she on the interwebs? Every other family is represented on Facebook, and Stefanie lurks around on here....but where is Marsha? This is the official draft Marsha to the internets (yes, internets....if you don't get it, google: Bush internets) blog entry.

Incidently, we all need to get a Facebook account or something where we can keep in touch. While we're at it, we also need to draft mom to Facebook. Wouldn't that be cute? Mom becoming a fan of chocolate, Vince Gil, and quilting, while sending us all a piece of flair, and taking the quiz, "What 90s rap star are you?"

Oh the fun!

A quick update

I've been told that I need to update my blog. There isn't really much going on other than watching Adam grow! He's a fat little boy. He turned 3 months on the first. He never met a bottle he didn't like. He's probably a little past 15 pounds. He's got the cutest smile, and he's starting to coo. He has a HUGE fascination with lights. Anytime he was fussy, I'd just turn the Christmas lights on and he'd calm right down. To get his attention, we turn him away from the lights and TV. He couldn't care less about sounds though. We did a little experiment and clapped right by his ear and he never even flinched. We know he can hear because he responds to our voices. With parents that have the last names Robrecht and Shrader, he's becoming a good German boy. He's discovering his left fist and when he looks at it, it's looks exactly like the "Heil Hitler" salute. Like all mothers, I'm completely biased and I have the cutest baby in the world.

Christmas was good, Bob has a new job, and Adam is happy and healthy....all is right with the world.

I'm still alive

I've been slacking on my writing and a couple people have pointed this out to me. Tonight, I'm extremely tired, so you'll have to get over all the typos and errors.

Adam is 1 month old now. He has grown SO much. You can tell how much by looking at his head. It looks like he has a receding hairline from where his head has gotten bigger! He's eating like a horse too! He eats 3-5 ounces every 2 hours. He's like clockwork during the night....every two hours. No matter how much sleep you get, if you're being woke up every 2 hours, it just doesn't feel like enough! However, Adam is so sweet and so precious that it makes up for it.

Lots of other stuff has been going on as well, but it's not really stuff you'd post on a public blog. Bob is in the process of starting a new job. I'm getting over a cold.

Adam's blessing is tomorrow....anyone who reads my blog will be there tomorrow, so I don't have to say too much about it. Bob will be there! YAY! The rest of my family finally get to meet Bob and find out that he is real and does exist.

Other than that, Adam is bathed, fed, changed, and going to sleep....as am I!
